How to Ship Your Items

Sending items to Vrt Storage is as easy as shipping a package. Here's how.

Step 1

Pack Your Items

Box up your belongings using our packing tips below. Label each box with a brief description of contents.

Step 2

Ship or Schedule Pickup

Ship via USPS, UPS, or FedEx to our company address. We also offer pre-paid shipping labels for your convenience.

Step 3

Our Team Catalogs Everything

When your items arrive, our employees photograph each piece, log it in your online inventory, and store it in our climate-controlled facility.

Packing Tips for Shipping

Pack smart to keep your items safe during transit and make cataloging easy.

1

Use sturdy, new boxes when possible

New corrugated boxes provide the best protection during transit. Avoid reusing damaged or worn boxes.

2

Wrap fragile items individually

Use bubble wrap, packing paper, or foam for each fragile item. Fill empty spaces in the box so nothing shifts.

3

Label every box clearly

Write a brief description of contents on the outside of each box. This helps us catalog your items accurately.

4

Seal boxes securely with packing tape

Use strong packing tape on all seams. Avoid duct tape or masking tape — they don't hold well during shipping.

5

Don't over-pack boxes

Keep each box under 50 lbs when possible. Overly heavy boxes are harder to handle and more likely to break during transit.

6

Include a packing list inside

Place a list of contents inside each box. If the outside label is damaged, we can still identify what's inside.

7

Remove batteries from electronics

Loose batteries can leak or cause damage. Remove them and pack separately in a labeled bag.

8

Use original packaging when available

If you still have the original box for electronics or fragile items, use it. Manufacturer packaging is designed for safe shipping.
